Google Maps Street View is a great way for users to explore the world at street level. It offers the opportunity to click around an interactive map and spot things they may never get the chance to see.
However, the third being joining them has a hint of fairytale about them.
Indeed, standing alongside the little girl appears to be a white unicorn, complete with trademark horn and rainbow mane.
The Reddit user posted the picture along with a caption saying: “Wild unicorn spotted in Salem, MA.”
Rainbow is clearly a theme of the day, and the people do not seem phased by the magical creature’s appearance at all.
In fact, the little girl appears to be snapping a photograph of the murky ocean, rather than the mythical horse beside her.
Given the matching rainbow outfits of two of the people, it could be that this is a themed day out.
Although this sighting has clear logic behind it, other Google Maps users have spotted bizarre happenings that remain less clear.
One such incident happened in a graveyard in Texas when a ghostly looking figure was noticed peering out from behind a tree.
Though there is likely an explanation, such as a glitch or the camera’s low resolution, spooky sightings such as this cause for a lot of fun and speculation amongst viewers.
