David Walliams addresses 'regret' for playing characters of other races: 'It was wrong'

Meanwhile, last week, Leigh Francis, 47, who is best known as Keith Lemon, publicly apologised for portraying black celebrities on his Channel 4 sketch show Bo’ Selecta.

In an Instagram video, Leigh said: “I’ve sat and thought about things and what I could post to try and help things.

“People didn’t say anything. I’m not going to blame other people,” he added.

“I’ve been talking to some people and I didn’t realise how offensive it was back then and I just want to apologise.”

His apology comes after protests for Black Lives Matter have been taking place across the world following the killing of George Floyd last month.
