PS5 reveal live stream: UK start time, PlayStation 5 games, leaks, price, release date

The moment PlayStation 5 fans have been waiting for is finally here, as Sony holds the PS5 reveal event.

The Future of Gaming event takes place at 9pm BST on June 11 for fans in the UK. That’s 1pm Pacific Time and 4pm Eastern for anybody tuning in from the US.

You can watch the event from start to finish on the PlayStation YouTube channel, or on the company’s Twitch channel. Alternatively, you can check back and watch the entire thing right here at 9pm BST.

Based on Sony’s recent comments, this will be the first of multiple PS5 events taking place over the coming months.

There’s a chance Sony will announce the PS5 release date and price during the live stream, but it’s more likely to focus exclusively on upcoming games.

The current rumours suggest the PS5 will launch in mid-November, and could cost as much as £599. That’s based on a recent Amazon listing that has since been removed.

“This digital showcase will run for a bit more than an hour and, for the first time, we will all be together virtually experiencing the excitement together,” reads a Sony post.

“A lack of physical events has given us an amazing opportunity to think differently and bring you on this journey with us, and hopefully, closer than ever before.

“This is part of our series of PS5 updates and, rest assured, after next week’s showcase, we will still have much to share with you.”

Viewers have been told that the experience will be broadcast at 1080p and 30 frames-per-second, and that headphones are recommended.

“It’s also best if you watch while wearing headphones, if you can — there’s some cool audio work in the show, and it might be harder to appreciate if it’s pumped through your phone or laptop speakers.”

In terms of games, fans can expect one or two first-party exclusives to be revealed during the event, as well as a remake or two.

The latest reports suggest that Bloodborne and Demon’s Souls will both be remade for the PlayStation 5.

Recent reports also claim that Silent Hill will be the subject of a soft reboot for the new system. The horror game is allegedly in development at Sony Japan, with series creator Keiichiro Toyama on board to direct.

New Horizon Zero Dawn, Spider-Man and Gran Turismo sequels are also rumoured to be in development, alongside all of the usual third-party games like FIFA, Assassin’s Creed and Madden.

There’s even talk that this year’s Call of Duty game will be announced during the event. Check out the links above for a closer look at the rumoured games coming to the PS5.

Sony has revealed a smattering of details about the new console in the months leading up to the Future of Gaming event.

Sony’s next-gen console will support 8K resolution, ray-tracing technology and have much faster loading times.

The speedy (or non-existent) loading times are possible thanks to the specialised solid-state drive, which will make a huge difference to processing speeds.

The next-gen PlayStation console will also ship with a brand new controller.

The DualSense controllers will feature “highly programmable voice-coil actuators located in the left and right grips of the controller”, which will provide all-new controller feedback sensations.

The controller will be able to provide different sensations when running in sand compared to swimming in water or moving over a wooden bridge.

The DualSense will also benefit from adaptive triggers, which will greatly benefit shooting games. Adaptive triggers will provide varying levels of resistance depending on the in-game experience. Tension will increase when firing a bow, for example.
