Mel Winker, who became a pinnacle of US TV, has died in his sleep, his family spokesperson confirmed. He was 78-years-old.
He died at his home in Hollywood on Thursday, Courtney Benson announced.
The spokesperson said: “Mel was ‘a consummate professional who was always willing to share his knowledge and wisdom on any given subject.
“His infectious smile and love for family will forever be missed. He was a giant among many,” Courtney told THR.
Mel is survived by his children Mark and Maury, and his four granddaughters.
