Earlier this month, B. Simone sparked controversy online when she said she’d never date a man who worked a 9-5 job. Admittedly, it’s entirely B. Simone’s decision regarding who she wants to date or not, including what standards she judges men by, however, people on the internet were not pleased.
B. Simone experienced criticism from many different people over the last week, although, Tory Lanez, the performing artist, had his own take on the supposedly controversial matter. Simone said that her man has to be a “hustling entrepreneur” rather than having a regular job.
B. Simone said that “entrepreneurs should date entrepreneurs.” It’s important for her man to understand her lifestyle. Moreover, she says that a man who doesn’t have that lifestyle, simply won’t get why she chooses to work so hard until the early hours of the morning.
Tory Lanez then chimed in on the debate, stating that many of the rappers out there who are flexing hard on social sharing platforms aren’t making as much money as people working a regular 9-5 job for someone else.
Tory said that B. Simone must not know that there are a lot of people who work 9-5 jobs who make more money than “some of our favorite rappers and entertainers.” Lanez went on to say that women who are working regular jobs could still hit him up on social media if they wanted too.
“I got time,” the rapper remarked. Social media users have been split on the issue, with many of them arguing that people are simply missing the point of what B. Simone had to say.
As one user put it, “B. Simone isn’t saying it’s about the money. She’s saying that she wants an entrepreneurial man who is working hard and is passionate about something. It’s not about the money, it’s about having a man in your life who understands where you’re coming from because you both have the same drive.”

Other users accused B. Simone of being a “gold digger” who only cares about cash.
