PlayStation 5 event rumours include Call of Duty 2020 and a surprise PS5 reveal

The June 11 PS5 reveal event has been rescheduled by Sony but isn’t expected to include any details regarding the price of the new console.

But even without that news, there is still plenty to look forward to during the PlayStation 5 event.

The Sony showcase will focus on what the new PS5 console can achieve, and this will mean offering up some new games.

While Sony hasn’t confirmed what they have planned, there’s been plenty of rumours regarding what will be revealed.

The new Call of Duty 2020 game is expected to be showcased alongside among other titles.

So far, gamers have had to rely on leaks to find out about the upcoming project, which is expected to be called Call of Duty Black Ops – Cold War.

This suggests the next game in the sub-series will be going back to its roots, focusing on a historical setting, instead of leaping into the future.

This could prove to be a smart move, as Call of Duty Modern Warfare’s style of gameplay has helped propel it to the top of the Call of Duty sales charts.

Other rumoured PS5 games include Horizon Zero Dawn 2, Gran Turismo 7, and a Silent Hill Reboot.

These new PS5 reveals are only rumours for now and should be taken with a pinch of salt.

The PS5 reveal event has been rescheduled for Thursday, June 11 at 1pm Pacific Time / 9pm BST.

A message from Sony “With each generation, from the first PlayStation to PlayStation 4, we aim higher and we push the boundaries further, to try and deliver better experiences for our community.

“This has been the mission of the PlayStation brand for more than 25 years. A mission I have been a part of nearly since the beginning.

“There are few things as exciting as the launch of a new console. While this road to launch has been a bit…different, we are as thrilled as ever to bring you with us on this journey to redefine the future of videogames.

“We’ve shared technical specifications and shown you the new DualSense wireless controller. But what is a launch without games?

“That’s why I’m excited to share that we will soon give you a first look at the games you’ll be playing after PlayStation 5 launches this holiday.

“The games coming to PS5 represent the best in the industry from innovative studios that span the globe. Studios, both larger and smaller, those newer and those more established, all have been hard at work developing games that will showcase the potential of the hardware.

“This digital showcase will run for a bit more than an hour and, for the first time, we will all be together virtually experiencing the excitement together.

“A lack of physical events has given us an amazing opportunity to think differently and bring you on this journey with us, and hopefully, closer than ever before.

“This is part of our series of PS5 updates and, rest assured, after next week’s showcase, we will still have much to share with you.”

Sony has also warned that the pre-taped program will be broadcast at 1080p and 30 frames per second.
