Piers Morgan: GMB rages at PM over 'disrespectful' appearance: 'Brush your b****y hair!'

And while the global health scare continues to rear its deadly head in the UK, the world is now facing another crisis.

Following the senseless killing of George Floyd by police officers in Minneapolis last month, the repercussions of the heinous attack has triggered multiple protests around the world.

The Black Lives Matter movement has dominated social media as we strive for equal rights for the black community and other ethnic minorities who suffer injustice at the hands of law enforcement.

Here in Britain, thousands of people including celebrities have taken to the streets, using their voices to incite change and put an end to racism for good.

But while the protests continue, there have been concerns from others over the “destruction” and “vandalism” of buildings and statues around the country and attacks on police officers, not to mention the threat of a second COVID-19 outbreak.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson addressed the nation during his daily press conferences amid the pandemic to touch on the issues, while hoping to stop protesters “attacking public property and the police” and warning them about the strict social distancing measures still in place.

It comes after pictures and videos surfaced on social media, which appeared to show some members attacking officers in the streets.

Boris warned that if those people were caught, they would “face the full force of the law.”

“Brush your b****y hair, Prime Minister,” he snapped in response to the video.

“So disrespectful to appear like Worzel Gummidge when speaking about something so serious.”

Worzel Gummidge was an ITV British children’s sitcom from 1979, featuring a walking, talking scarecrow character that embarked on various adventures around the village.

While some applauded the humorous comparison, others weren’t so pleased that Piers was “stooping so low” at such an important time.

“If he had appeared with neatly cropped hair, you would have accused him of breaking the rules,” one fan snapped.

Another said: “@piersmorgan #bekind. No need to get personal. Take a look at your behaviour and appearance before making derogatory remarks about others.. so disrespectful!”

“He’s been seriously ill, is probably a bit busy, and nobody can get haircuts. Plus, it doesn’t matter,” a third retorted.

A fourth questioned: “Seriously? Everything going on in the world and his hair is your biggest concern. That comment was also one of a bully.”

But others agreed with the ITV stalwart: “He always looks like he’s just been trampled by elephant. He’s so scruffy,” said one.

A second laughed: “His hair is seriously getting out of control, its f****n hilarious the scruffy g*t hahaha kills me.”

Good Morning Britain continues weekdays at 6am on ITV.
