Abby Lee Miller responded to the accusations that she used to make racist comments on Dance Moms. It all started when two of the black mothers called her out for being insincere after showing support to the Black Lives Matter movement.
In response, Abby promised to learn and do better in the future and also apologized for her ignorant words.
Adriana Smith was the first to slam Abby for apparently saying her daughter was only on the show for a ‘sprinkle of color.’
And that was not all! The season 8 mom also claimed Abby suggested she lived in the ‘hood.’
The former Dance Moms instructor and host wrote in her apology letter that: ‘I understand and deeply regret the way my words have affected and hurt those around me, particularly those from the Black community. To Kamryn, Adriana and anyone else I have hurt, I’m truly sorry. I realize racism can come not just from hate, but also ignorance. No matter what the cause, it’s harmful and it’s my fault.’
She added that ‘While I can’t change the past or remove the harm I’ve done, I promise to educate myself, to learn, grow and do better. While I hope one day I can earn your forgiveness, I recognize words alone are not enough. I understand that it takes time and genuine change.’
Adriana previously suggested in her exposing post that she felt like it was the perfect time to tell the world the ‘truth’ about Abby Lee Miller, referring, of course, to the George Floyd and BLM movement protests.
The woman went on to recall something that Abby said that had stuck with her.
According to Adriana, Abby suggested that because the mother ‘grew up in the HOOD with only a box of 8 crayons’ while she ‘grew up in the country club with a box of 64’ she was somehow superior.
While Abby did not explicitly say that last part, Adriana definitely got that impression from the not so subtle diss.
Besides, Abby also advised her not to be ‘stupid’ right after the hood and crayons comment.
Furthermore, she recalled Abby telling her why she was on the show by suggesting she looked in the mirror!

This, of course, was meant to downplay her daughter’s talents by suggesting that she was only on the show for the sake of representation.
