Rapper Trina Apologizes For Controversial Comments Made About Riots

Love and Hip Hop star Trina took to her morning show with Trick Daddy on 99 Jamz where they debated about the state of the country. After Trina referred to the protesters who are are rebelling for George Floyd’s shocking murder as ‘animals,’ social media quickly made the clip go viral.

This morning, the rapper has decided to clear things up. She insisted that she wasn’t referring to black people as animals and apologized for the way she came across.

‘Me, in my Trina’s world, I’m automatically speaking for black people. I am black people, that’s who I’m speaking for, so I’m not gonna say ‘black people are animals.’ I’m not talking to the protestors or those that are trying to make change.’

She revealed that after having a few conversations, she’s definitely changed her viewpoint.

‘And this is why, the day after when we spoke to the commissioner, I said to Trick, ‘Well, I learned a lot more about what’s really happening,’ because I’m trying to get what’s the solution, what is the answer to everything that is happening. I would never say that, or call black people animals or any names. I am a black person, I must be an animal, I must be this same person. I mean, that’s not who I am.’

This comes after she said that they should extend the curfew and make it 6 p.m. for Miami residents after her friend’s store was ransacked.

‘They need to make the curfew at 6 p.m. Keep everybody off the street, these animals off the streets, that are running around in Miami-Dade County acting like they have escaped from a zoo. Lock them up at 5 p.m. so the streets can be nice and clean, that’s how I feel.’

Not long after, social media users declared Trina to be canceled and a petition to get her fired from the Trick and Trina Morning Show reached over 10K signatures.
