The NBA legend made sure to also speak up about police brutality and ‘ingrained racism’ following the death of George Floyd. Michael Jordan is the latest celebrity to share a very powerful statement while people and stars alike are taking to the streets to protest racially charged systemic injustice!
The man stressed that he is ‘deeply saddened, truly pained and plain angry’ in a post on Twitter.
Furthermore, he mentioned that he can definitely ‘see and feel everyone’s pain, outrage and frustration,’ and that he stands ‘with those who are calling out the ingrained racism and violence toward people of color in our country.’
The legendary sportsman stated that ‘we have had enough’ as well and encouraged people to take action.
Fans of the NBA star know all too well that Jordan has kept away from sharing his political beliefs for the longest time but this was obviously the time to finally take a public stance even for him.
At the core of his message, however, it was still that unity is the answer and that it is the best ‘weapon’ against injustice and violence.
‘I do not have the answers, but our collective voices truly show strength and the inability to be divided by others. We have to listen to each other, show compassion and empathy and to never turn our backs on senseless brutality,’ he went on to write.
He also called for demanding accountability from people in positions of power and pressuring the leaders to change the laws all the while expressing everything through a collective and peaceful voice.
‘Every one of us needs to be part of the solution, and we must work together to ensure justice for all,’ he stressed in his powerful message.

Finally, Jordan made sure to send his condolences to George Floyd’s family and friends.
