Let’s correct this first…

Microsoft ***CAN’T*** Acquire Platinum, But It Needs to Appeal to Japanese Gamers

Platinum don’t wish to be purchased by anyone at this time. It’s not that Microsoft decided not to. Don’t lead off with a misleading title.

Besides that, we have gone over this before. You can’t be worth that much(ONE TRILLION), have supporters spew so much about their worth when it suits them. But a fraction of that isn’t/wasn’t used to create studios to grow the market there. They can do that with “The Initiative.” But can’t do that same thing in Japan.

They even had the support of a Japanese developer that made two quality games for 360. But didn’t nourish that partnership further that would have benefited Xbox One. Because of Xbox sales in Japan, they could have released digital over there while digital and disc in Europe and the U.S.. Nope. Partnership vaporized. And instead, Phil had to continue to make trips to Japan to beg and throw money. Don’t have to do that with an in-house studio.

I know there are those that don’t like hearing the comparison. You know me though. I don’t care. Sony don’t need to make ANY trips to bring games to their platform. Unless, it’s to nourish new talent like in China. Which benfits China and Sony. And this is with way less money than Microsoft. No ” Sony Does Dallas.” No “Around the Sony World in 80 Days.” Phil should already know what’s required as a previous general manager of game studios. They just weren’t interested unless services were involved. Which shows lack of support or risks unless it’s assured revenue.

Take PC. Microsoft made PC games. Then pretty much abandoned it. Then Valve took over with Steam. And it’s like, “Hey!” “We’re back.” But gamers Didn’t forget you left. Same with Windows VR headsets. They partnered with several companies. But made no games for the platform. Okay. Maybe a poor Halo experience. Where’s the support?

You want Japanese games? Then create the studios and make them. Then there’s no trips and begging involved. The Japanese know when you’re half @$$ing a job. A country that puts major effort into something as simple as pouring tea or serving sushi.
