Madonna is in hot water after paying tribute to George Floyd! The pop legend has been trending on Twitter because of the insensitive post!
While she had all the right intentions, it just did not come out right!
Madonna took to social media to share a clip of her 14-year-old son, David Banda, dancing to Michael Jackson’s ‘They Don’t Care About Us’ and wrote in the caption: ‘As news of George Floyd’s brutal murder travels around the world my son dances to honor and pay tribute to George and his family and all the acts of racism and discrimination that happen on a daily basis in America’
While the artist must have thought that would be a very touching and powerful way to share a positive message, a lot of people were quick to call her out, some saying that she is really out of touch.
Here are a few of the comments criticizing the way she chose to pay tribute to Floyd: ‘A bit insensitive as you’re a person with a platform to voice their concern, you should be doing a lot more.’ / ‘Having your adopted black son dance ain’t going to force change to happen.’ / ‘Good intentions but completely tone-deaf. Dancing away the racism of murderous cops won’t actually do anything. But thanks for trying!’
The whole internet has been expressing outrage over the tragic death of 46-year-old Floyd who lost his life after being pinned down by a policeman by pressing his knee into his neck.
Many well-known names have also been using their voices to bring awareness to the whole Black Lives Matter movement and to put a stop to police brutality in the country.

That being said, Madonna previously spoke out against the police officers involved in the senseless killing as well, saying that the footage taken by a bystander that captured the murder, was the ‘most sickening, heartbreaking thing I’ve seen in a long time.’
