Rosie O’Donnell joined the ranks of many other social media users who thinks that some of Madonna’s quarantine posts have been quite odd. As it was previously reported, Madonna has been posting a plethora of videos on her Instagram account over the last few months which many fans have described as “odd” and “out of touch.”
Apparently, Rosie O’Donnell agrees with the sentiment. In case you missed it, this past month, Madonna took to her IG to say that she thought the coronavirus pandemic was cleansing in a number of ways.
The legendary performing artist has been sharing videos with the title, “Quarantine Diaries,” which feature her sitting alone by a typewriter and discussing her emotional and physical turmoil. For instance, one video shows her sitting in a bathtub while referring to the pandemic as the “great equalizer.”
Following a cascade of negative comments and media reports, Madonna deleted the post. When Page Six mentioned her videos, O’Donnell stated, “I know, I know.” Rosie defended Madonna while at the same time acknowledging how strange it must appear to people outside of the entertainment industry.
Rosie went on to say that Madonna is an “artist in her own category,” and she does what she likes and doesn’t care what people think about her. According to O’Donnell, she and Madonna chat regularly but they rarely talk about her social media posts.
Rosie says that it’s the only place for her to be creative at the moment because much of the music industry has been shut down, especially performances and concerts.
O’Donnell said, “but I agree, the videos are a little weird.” With all that said, Madonna has been spending much of her time with a much younger man named Ahlamalik Williams. She currently has six children under her belt.

These days, O’Donnell has been working on I Know This Much Is True on HBO while simultaneously quarantining in her New Jersey home. However, Rosie recently had to go to a doctor in New York City and she said she was frightened to do so.
