Nicole Kidman Reveals The Moment She Fell In Love With Keith Urban

Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban have been married for nearly 14 years, and the Oscar winner still remembers the moment she fell in love with the country crooner. The Australian actress recently opened up about her relationship with Urban in a new interview, and she admits there was a moment early on where she “was a goner.”

Speaking with WSJ Magazine, Kidman describes Urban as “mellow” and says that he is “pretty much the flip side of neurotic.” The couple actually met by chance back in 2005 at an industry event, and she agreed to a date with the New Zealand native.

That first date featured a ride on his Harley-Davidson motorcycle and they ended up in Woodstock, New York, for a picnic in the woods. That was it, that’s all it took for Kidman to fall for Urban. Reminiscing about the moment, Kidman said “I was a goner, I mean, c’mon.”

The Bombshell star now shares two daughters with Urban – Sunday Rose, 11, and Faith Margaret, 9 – and she says that balancing her life as a wife and mother with her film career is important.

Kidman says that she will pass on films or she will choose projects that are shooting on the East Coast when her kids aren’t in school to make sure she has plenty of family time. Another option for Kidman is to take a supporting part in a film so her shooting schedule isn’t as demanding as it would be for a leading role.

“We have a system worked out to keep the family together,” she says. “When Keith’s not touring, it’s much easier. He’ll be on tour next year, and then I just don’t work as much. Literally—it will become imbalanced, and we will change it.”

Kidman says that she and Urban don’t have all the answers, but the one thing they do know is that their career decisions and the other choices they make will not jeopardize their relationship or their family.

The Moulin Rouge star says that her taste in film projects “is really out there,” and there is no sense to the roles that she chooses because she is a “complete random non-conformist.” Nicole Kidman says she has no problem going on the record and declaring that she has no idea what she is doing.
