Kristin Cavallari And Jay Cutler’s Divorce Is Already Getting Messy

Very Cavallari star Kristin Cavallari just announced over the weekend that she and husband Jay Cutler were divorcing after seven years of marriage and ten years together, but things are already starting to get messy. The couple reportedly accused each other of cheating numerous times throughout the marriage, but infidelity isn’t what caused their split.

According to Us Weekly, the reason for the divorce is that Cavallari and Cutler grew apart, not because anyone cheated.

“The word around Nashville is they really just don’t like each other anymore,” dished an insider. “They would accuse each other of cheating, but nothing really solid. They are both very stubborn and bump heads a lot and neither backs down.”

Three months before announcing the split, Cavallari admitted that the rumors surrounding Cutler and her former bestie Kelly Henderson did cause problems. She said that she didn’t believe that her husband and best friend had an affair, but she felt Henderson was adding “fuel to the fire” and using her for fame. Cavallari called the entire situation “heartbreaking,” and she never expected Henderson to act the way she did.

The insider claims that Cavallari and Cutler have been on the same side of things when it comes to their three kids – Camden, 7, Jaxon, 5, and Saylor, 4 – but it started to seem like the couple didn’t want to be around each other.

“Kristin and Jay always seemed annoyed with each other and they were only on the same side when it came to their kids,” the source adds. “Their personal relationship became antagonistic and it was better for their whole family to divorce.”

Cavallari, 33, and Cutler, 36, filed their divorce paperwork on Friday, April 24, but there were some discrepancies in their respective filings. In the Uncommon James owner’s filing, she claimed that the former Chicago Bear “is guilty of such inappropriate marital conduct as renders furthers cohabitation unsafe and improper.”

She requested primary custody of the kids, but he claimed to be the “available at-home parent and primary caretaker.” A second source claims that Cavallari believes she is the primary caretaker of the kids, even though Cutler has been at home since retiring from the NFL in 2017.

Cutler listed their date of separation as April 21, while Cavallari declared the marriage was over on April 7 when they returned from the Bahamas. In addition to primary custody, Cavallari is also requesting that Cutler take care of the kids’ health insurance and other medical expenses.

Last year, Kristin Cavallari told Entertainment Tonight that she and Jay Cutler had “completely shifted roles” since his retirement and they were trying to navigate their new normal. She added that Cutler had been great and she couldn’t “do it without him.”
