Once again, Donald Trump says something completely outrageous and people on social media mock him! This time around, the president suggested that disinfectant injections might be able to cure COVID-19!
Obviously, his ridiculous and very dangerous suggestion started trending on Twitter along with a lot of ‘Tide Pod’ jokes!
That’s right! The dangerous challenge that had people biting into the colorful, candy-like detergent pods has resurfaced, at least in name, and trending again!
It all started with a report from Homeland Security official Bill Bryan saying UV rays help kill the virus from certain surfaces.
But that was not all! Bill also went on to say that basic, day to day disinfecting products, such as bleach and alcohol work just as well in the same context!
That is when the president of the United States came up with the ‘brilliant’ idea that those products could be used to cure already infected humans too, by injecting them!
Trump was definitely excited about that prospect despite the fact that it should be common sense that it’s highly toxic and dangerous in many ways to do such things.
‘Tide Pods’ as well as ‘Lysol’ were quick to start trending on the platform.
‘I see that disinfectant knocks it out in a minute. One minute. And is there a way we can do something like that. By injection inside…or almost a cleaning. Cause you see it gets in the lungs and does a tremendous number on the lungs. It would be interesting to check that so you’ll have to use medical doctors. But it sounds interesting to me. We’ll see, but the whole concept of the light the way it goes in there in one minute. It’s pretty powerful,’ the Donald proposed to Bryan.

Here are a few of the outraged and also pretty hilarious responses to his statement: ‘Dear @realDonaldTrump I’ve eaten 7 tide pods and my wife is sticking her head in the oven and neither of us feels any better yet PLEASE EXPLAIN??’ / ‘This motherf**ker basically just told people to drink bleach and eat tide pods. You cannot make this stuff up.’ / ‘Paging Dr. Fauci. The President of the United States just told Americans to eat Tide Pods and inject themselves with radiation to cure Covid19. What the hell do we do?’

Many were also much more serious about this, stressing in their posts that no one should, under no circumstances, inject themselves with, or ingest any cleaning products!
