North Korea Fires Several Short-Range Missiles, South Korea Says

(Bloomberg) — North Korea fired multiple projectiles that appeared to be short-range missiles toward waters off its eastern coast on Tuesday, South Korea’s Defense Ministry said.

Multiple air-to-surface missiles were fired from fighters jets, with the missiles flying about 150 kilometers (90 miles), the Yonhap News Agency said, citing the South Korea’s Joint Chiefs of Staff. The launch comes after North Korea test-launched nine short-range ballistic missiles in March, a record for it in a month.

The latest launch comes ahead of South Korean parliamentary elections planned for Wednesday.
