Janet Jackson Encourages Americans To Socially Isolate

Janet Jackson wants the world to know they should be staying behind closed doors in the face of the coronavirus pandemic. On her Twitter account, Jackson asked why people couldn’t just stay inside. She added, “I got s**t to do in June,” but later deleted the tweet.

It’s possible Jackson is referring to her upcoming tour, Black Diamond, which is supposed to start on the 24th of June in Miami, Florida. As most know, the United States of America has been put on hold until the ending of April, after initially only being quarantined for 15 days.

In February, Janet stopped by a few television shows to promote her new tour, including when she spoke with Jimmy Fallon on The Late Show and with Ryan Seacrest for On-Air with Ryan Seacrest. The star appeared on both programs to announce she was going on tour and also releasing new music.

Furthermore, Jackson surprised the hosts of The View with free tickets for audience members.

Jackson, initially, was supposed to perform at the 2020 Essence Festival of Culture in July, but it was postponed until the later months of the year due to the pandemic. Jackson hasn’t postponed any of her Black Diamond dates, however.

This past week, Jackson also showed her gratitude for all of the health workers out there who have been “putting themselves at risk” for the sake of the nation.

As it was noted above, many concerts and festivals have been canceled this year, including the biggest events of 2020, like Coachella, South By Southwest Film Festival, and even France’s Cannes Film Festival.

It’s been an especially hard year for those who work in the entertainment industry, considering how many performing artists rely on performing and touring to make money. Earlier today, Young Thug revealed that he was losing out on millions of dollars due to the pandemic. The rapper stated he had bills to pay, including his parents’ penthouse suite.
