Rapper Young Thug Says He’s Losing Millions Due To Pandemic

It’s been reported several times in the last month that the coronavirus pandemic has had an adverse effect on the world economy, and the music industry is no different.

Especially in the age of streaming and low physical sales, performing artists rely on concerts more than ever as an income stream. Income diversification has only become more important to the average performing artist as the years have passed.

Young Thug, the rapper, is just one artist to comment on the lack of money made during this time. During a recent conversation with the acclaimed, Big Boy, Young Thug shared how his pocketbook has been hit hard by COVID-19.

According to Billboard, Big Boy asked him how much he was going to lose over the next few months, and YT estimated around $5 million due to the public being behind closed doors at the moment. Thugger shared with the host that it’s going to cost him “double,” because he can’t do shows, and also has bills to pay.

While his income stream has slowed down, Young Thug claims the quarantine itself is going to cost him money because he has to take care of his mother and father. Thug claimed his parents, additionally, want to stay in a penthouse suite, and of course, that costs a lot more.

Furthermore, Thugger shared what he thought of Lil’ Uzi Vert and how he didn’t want to invite the young rapper over to his house anymore because he’s “the f*cking devil.” Young Thug joked that he has been breaking stuff in his house and doing all kinds of “little evil stupid s**t.”

In other news, Young Thug has been eager to spread warning messages to the public on his Instagram, including a bible passage warning his followers to pay attention to the rise of coronavirus cases in the United States.
