Ali Wentworth Tests Positive For Coronavirus — George Stephanopoulos’ Wife Says She Never Felt Sicker

Just one week after Julia Roberts nominated her in her #IStayHome challenge, Ali Wentworth announced she has tested positive for the Coronavirus and is sicker than she has ever been in her life. The wife of George Stephanopoulos has shared a bit of her journey on her official Instagram account. In one photo that she shared before announcing her positive diagnosis, she was seen snuggling against George and shared the caption that she couldn’t stay six feet away from her husband of 19 years. At this point, it is unclear exactly when her symptoms began, but due to the photo of her snuggling against George, it seems that though she was self-isolating, she may not have been experiencing symptoms or known she was sick. Now, she is under quarantine and isolated from her family while she battles Coronavirus from her home.

George Stephanopoulos had been hosting Good Morning America in the studio but is now at home broadcasting from home as the nation prays for Ali and hopes that George and their two daughters Harper, 14, and Elliott, 17, don’t catch the virus.

You may see a post that Ali shared on her official Instagram account where she announced that she had contracted the Coronavirus below. She included the following caption.

I have tested positive for the Corona Virus. I’ve never been sicker. High fever. Horrific body aches. Heavy chest. I’m quarantined from my family. This is pure misery. #stayhome”

As it may take up to two weeks from exposure to Covid-19 before symptoms appear, there is a possibility that George and the children may have already contracted the virus. There are no exact rules when it comes to this novel virus and though Ali has developed painful symptoms including feeling a heaviness in her chest, that doesn’t guarantee her condition will worsen or that George and the girls will develop symptoms. There are many unknown variables when dealing with Coronavirus and a person’s own immune system has a direct correlation to how their body responds to the potentially deadly virus.

George Stephanopoulos announced on Wednesday’s broadcast of Good Morning America that he will broadcast from home indefinitely.

In addition to George Stephanopoulos’ wife’s, Ali Wentworth’s, diagnosis, CNN journalist Chris Cuomo also tested positive for the virus.
