Trump to designate Venezuela as state terrorism sponsor and charge president Maduro, report says

The Trump administration is expected to designate Venezuela as a state sponsor of terrorism and bring charges against President Nicolás Maduro.

Only four other countries are designated as state sponsors of terrorism — North Korea, Iran, Sudan and Syria.

The move could come as soon as Thursday, CNN reports, and would enable the US to implement further sanctions against the Maduro regime.
