Britney Spears Claims To Be The World’s Fastest Sprinter In New Instagram Post

Britney Spears’ recent social media activity has provided some unique content that has left fans scratching their heads, but her most recent Instagram post might just be the most baffling. On March 25th, Spears claimed that she ran a 100-meter dash faster than the world record holder, Usain Bolt.

Spears posted a screenshot of her iPhone’s stopwatch app that read “5.97 seconds” and wrote in the caption: “Ran my first 5 !!!! Getting over your fear of pushing it in the beginning is key …. once I did that I hit 5 !!!!!” wrote the singer. “Usually I run 6 or 7 …. my first try was 9 …. and now I did it whoop !!!!! 100 meter dash !!!!!”

The Toxic singer’s brother-in-law, Jamie Watson, pointed out just how absurd the claim was when he commented: “It’s a shame the olympics are canceled. You could hang 4 seconds on everyone.”

Bolt set the world record for the 100-meter dash in August 2009 at the World Championships in Berlin when he completed the race in 9.58 seconds. At the time, the Jamaica native broke his own previous records that he had set in 2008, 9.69 seconds and 9.72 seconds.

On the women’s side, American Olympian Florence Griffith Joyner (AKA “Flo-Jo”) holds the record which she set in 1988 at 10.49 seconds. Joyner was – and still is after her death – considered to be the fastest woman of all time.

In addition to setting world records, Spears has been spending her time at home during self-quarantine with her boyfriend Sam Asghari. The 38-year-old and her personal trainer beau have been working out together, and she has been dancing in the backyard.

Spears has actually been on a work hiatus for more than a year after canceling her planned Las Vegas residency Britney: Domination.

“Dance is Britney’s creative outlet. Not only does it help her stay in shape, but it is also a form of therapy and clears her mind,” an insider told Us Weekly. “She may stop making music at some point but she will never stop dancing, whether that be on a stage in front of 25,000 people or alone in her backyard.”

Earlier this week, Britney Spears – who is worth approximately $59 million – supported a socialist message when she told her fans online that they should “redistribute wealth” and “strike” during the COVID-19 quarantine.

Spears also took part in the #DoYourPartChallenge and told fans to DM her if they need help buying food and supplies.
