Earlier this week, A Quiet Place Part II star Emily Blunt was out promoting the film before it’s release was delayed due to coronavirus. During a recent visit to The Late Late Show With James Corden, Blunt talked about her marriage to The Office alum John Krasinski – who wrote and directed A Quiet Place Part II – and she revealed her one regret from their wedding day.
“I got a bad spray tan and I would probably change that,” admitted the 37-year-old British actress. “I look at the pictures and it just has an orange hue that is unnatural to normal skin color.”
A curious Corden asked Blunt what specific self-tanner she used, and she replied that it was a “do-it-yourself” tanner because she was on a budget on her wedding day. She added that it was a “bit pitchy” and it “stinks.”
“It was a very hot day so if you sweat and you have a spray tan, you’re just seeping orange,” added the Devil Wears Prada star. She went on to explain that she applied the DIY self-tanner the night before her wedding because she wanted it to “look fresh.”
Blunt and Krasinski tied the knot in 2010 at George Clooney’s villa in Lake Como, Italy. Even though her skin color may have been a bit more bronze that she was aiming for, Blunt did look exquisite in her custom Marchesa gown.
Krasinski proposed in 2009 with a $100,000 Neil Lane diamond and platinum ring after the couple dated for about a year.
John Krasinski and Emily Blunt – who will be celebrating their tenth wedding anniversary in July – are now the parents of six-year-old Hazel and three-year-old Violet.
In a separate interview with The Guardian, Blunt said that she knew she would marry Krasinski after he met her parents for the first time. The London-born actress says that she brought the Boston native home to meet her parents at a traditional “Sunday roast,” and Krasinski was able to tolerate her father’s cooking.
“My father likes to present the beef sort of barely cooked,” said Blunt. “It is my lasting memory of how John coped with that situation, as someone who prefers things a bit more medium.”
As for Krasinski, he said he was a fan of his wife’s before he met her, and he continues to support her in everything she does. Despite all of the travel their jobs require, he says the most important thing is coming back home and being together.
