Expert reveals the ONE country UK can learn from that has 'kept coronavirus under control'

CEO of the Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations Dr Hatchett stated that despite Singapore having its first confirmed case of coronavirus over six weeks ago they have managed to limit their outbreak of COVID-19. At the time of writing, Singapore has 130 cases compared to the United Kingdom that has 164 cases. Britain had its first confirmed coronavirus case longer than three weeks after Singapore had been battling the virus. 

Dr Richard Hatchett said: “I don’t like to make predictions.

“I think it is up to societies how they will respond to the virus.

“You can look at places like Singapore and Hong Kong.

“Singapore had its first case on January 23rd, yesterday I think they had reached 115 cases.”

Channel 4’s Cathy Newman replied: “So fewer than the UK.”

Dr. Richard Hatchett said: “Fewer than the UK over six weeks.

“Basically they have been able through their public health interventions, through the public health response, through contract tracing, isolation of cases and through engaging the public, they have been able to keep the virus under control.”

Singapore has the 14th highest amount of COVID-19 cases across the globe.

The United Kingdom currently has the 11th highest amount of coronavirus cases in the world. 

Of the 164 cases in Britain at the time of writing 144 are still active. 

A total of 18 people have recovered from the COVID-19 virus in the UK. 

There have been two confirmed deaths as a result of the virus in Britain.
