Sky TV customers get a cheaper way to watch television and it even includes Netflix

Sky is offering its customers a more affordable way to tune into its own exclusive content and get access to endless box sets from Netflix. The satellite firm’s new Ultimate TV service brings together all of its biggest shows along with access to the popular streaming service for £25 per month – a price that Sky says cannot be beaten.

Those signing up to this new bundle will also get access to a new Sky Q box which allows you to watch and record more shows at once.

This set-top box also includes an improved interface, which features content from Sky and Netflix in one place making it more simple to find your favourite shows.

Speaking about the new bundle, Liz Wynn, Managing Director, Sky TV said: “With the launch of Sky Ultimate TV, all our customers will get the most talked-about shows from Sky TV and Netflix for an unbeatable £25 a month. From Save Me to The Crown, you’ll get all the episodes whenever you want them, all in one place on our award-winning Sky Q box.”

It’s worth noting that this lower price only includes access to Netflix Basic, which means you can’t watch in stunning HD quality. To bring that 4K content to your telly you’ll need to upgrade to Ultra HD and Netflix Premium which costs an extra £10 per month.

Speaking about the news Jeremy Darroch, Group Chief Executive, Sky, said: “We’ve built a strong partnership with Disney over three decades and we’re pleased that our customers in the UK and Ireland can continue to enjoy their world-class content – all in one place on Sky Q.

“This is a great start to what is set to be another stellar year for Sky – in 2020 we’ll launch new channels and genres, start building Sky Studios Elstree and we’ve got brilliant new and returning originals coming too.”

The streaming service will be priced at £5.99 per month or £59.99 for the year, making it the same price at Netflix’s Basic plan.

However, to make things even more enticing, Disney is currently running a promotion which offers a full year of access for just £49.99 – that works out at just over £4 per month.
