Call of Duty Modern Warfare UPDATE: PS4 and Xbox patch news for COD download

Activision has provided a guide on what new content is being released this week in Call of Duty Modern Warfare. A COD download is usually scheduled every Tuesday, bringing with it playlist changes and bugfixes. And sometimes there are also new maps to explore and modes to test out on PS4, Xbox One and PC.

And according to the latest roadmap supplied by Activision and developers Infinity Ward, a few changes are being planned this month.

From what has been confirmed, Tuesday, March 3, will see the rotation of a few playlist variants but not much else.

This will include the return of Gunfight Trios and an updated 1v1 Me Bro Playlist on Rust.

Activision has not confirmed whether these changes will be part of a bigger Modern Warfare update going live this week.

Infinity Ward could choose to attach some bugfixes or balance changes to the upcoming COD patch.

And there’s always the chance of a few surprises being thrown in too.

A recent message from Activision adds: “Test your skills this week in Modern Warfare with an updated 1v1 playlist and the return of Gunfight trios.

“Lead your team to victory in Gunfight trios. Battle with a variety of random weapons on small, close quarters battlefield, including the newly added Bazaar. Master the symmetry of Gunfight maps by reading up on our Gunfight Tactical Map Intel articles and ready up to take on any opponent.

“Get Mace a deadly new Operator for the Allegiance Forces. The Mace Operator Bundle includes the ‘Metal Phantom’ Operator skin, two weapon blueprints, the ‘Mace to the Face’ Finishing Move, two tier skips, and more. Mace is available now in the Modern Warfare Store.

“Ready to square off against your friend or foe? Hop into the updated 1v1 Me Bro playlist where the radar is permanently on, so you can hunt down the enemy. Utilise the constant radar pings to plan your attack but be wary because your opponent knows your location as well.”

And some COD gamers are also hoping that there could be a new mode announced this week for Modern Warfare too.

The discovery of a new Battle Royale mode has set tongues wagging over when Activision is planning to drop it.

Recent reports suggest that this will happen in early March and that provides a slim possibility of something happening on Tuesday.

Activision could, of course, elect to drop new content whenever it feels like it and other reports suggest that this new Battle Royale experience will not be ready until the week of March 9 at the earliest.

This would help explain why there is a new Classified section on the Modern Warfare menu, which appears to be hinting at something filling that space very soon.

According to recent reports, the new Call of Duty Warzone mode will boast a larger map than Blackout, with up to 200 players participating in battles within a shrinking sphere of gameplay.

There are also rumours that Call of Duty Warzone will be available to play for free, regardless of if you own Modern Warfare.

Players from both versions will be able to play against each other and there could even be a crossover when it comes to the Season 2 Battle Pass.

Whatever does happen, fans will be hoping for more news regarding the future of Modern Warfare in the coming weeks.
