Call of Duty Warzone: Battle Royale release date latest for PS4 and Xbox One

Some COD fans believe that Call of Duty Warzone has a release date set for Tuesday, March 3, 2020. There’s been plenty of reports and rumours surrounding the next big update coming to COD Modern Warfare on PS4 and Xbox One. This includes the news that a brand new Battle Royale mode called Call of Duty Warzone will be available to download later this month.

Recent rumours claim that this new mode will be unveiled by Activision in early March and will be available to play across all platforms.

This would explain the reason behind the new Classified section on the Modern Warfare menu, which has yet to be explained by developers Infinity Ward.

It’s hard to workout out what is true and what might be old information, but it appears this more will be bigger than Black Ops 4’s Blackout.

A larger map will be available to explore, with up to 200 players participating in battles within a shrinking map space.

There are also rumours that Call of Duty Warzone will be available to play for free, regardless of if you own Modern Warfare.

Players from both versions would be able to play against each other and there could even be a crossover when it comes to the Season 2 Battle Pass.

However, it should be noted that Activision has yet to share any details on this Battle Royale mode, which remains a rumour for now.

But there’s been enough evidence to suggest that something is being planned for Activision and it looks like it will be coming soon.

CALL OF DUTY MODERN WARFARE BATTLE ROYALE COMING TO PS4 AND XBOX ONE

The reason COD fans believe something is being worked on for March 3 is the discovery of new Easter Eggs in Modern Warfare.

This week saw a new map released into Call of Duty called Bazaar, and on the map, players have found what they believe to be a blank map.

And underneath that map image, there appears to be a reference to 03/03, a date that would work for the launch, or reveal, of Call of Duty Warzone.

This would also fit with another update to Call of Duty Modern Warfare’s menu screen, which has added a “transmission incoming” message behind the Classified section.

For now, Activision has said nothing about updating Modern Warfare with a new Battle Royale mode.

They have confirmed that a new COD update is being worked on for next week, although this will only contain playlist changes.

A message from Infinity Ward explains: “Let’s take a look at what happened at the studio this week and what’s coming next week!

“This week we turned on 3v3 Snipers on Rust, combined some 24/7 maps in our “Dirty Old House Boat” playlist, and today we turned on 2XP, live now until Monday!

“Shoot the Ship” will be making its return along with some fun changes to the 1v1 Me Bro playlist and 3v3 Gunfight.

“We’re also working on some other game mode hybrids, like Cranked Kill Confirmed, so stay tuned next week for updates.”
