Mike Sorrentino Reveals He Tried To Talk Snooki Out Of Leaving Jersey Shore

Jersey Shore: Family Vacation star Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino says that he didn’t want his co-star Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi to leave the show that made them both famous. Sorrentino said that after Polizzi announced she was leaving Jersey Shore back in December, he did everything he could to try and convince her to stay.

“I didn’t agree with it, but I have to support my sister,” Sorrentino told Us Weekly. “I had texted her, called her and tried to convince her to reconsider but she has to do what’s right for her and we have to support her as a family.”

The 37-year-old added that Polizzi might come back and revisit or maybe she’ll have a change of heart. Either way, he remains hopeful for the future.

Vinny Guadagnino noted that Polizzi “quits every day,” but it was obvious this time around that things weren’t working out for her. She has three small children – Lorenzo, 7, Giovanna, 5, and Angelo, 8 months – who she shares with husband Jionni LaValle, and they are constantly pulling her away from Jersey Shore.

Guadagnino added that even though Polizzi wants to do the show, things have to be balanced. And right now, the scale was tipping toward Snooki taking a break from Jersey Shore and focusing on her kids.

When Polizzi revealed on her podcast It’s Happening With Snooki & Joey that she was quitting Jersey Shore, she explained that she hates being away from her kids. She said that she doesn’t like partying for three days in a row because that’s just not her life anymore. Instead, she wants to be home and be a mom to her children.

The 32-year-old added that she doesn’t mind going to dinner here and there with her Jersey Shore co-stars. But, it’s just “really hard” on her to leave the kids and film the MTV series.

Polizzi told Us Weekly in January that she was gone for two weeks in Miami while filming, and then she was home for just one night before she left for two more weeks. The mom-of-three said this “literally scared” her 7-year-old son because she was only home for one day duirng an entire month.

“So anytime I say, ‘Mommy’s going to work,’ he’s like, ‘Mom, you cannot leave me again like you did. I was so upset. I don’t want you leaving.’ So now every time I say I’m leaving for work, he goes, ‘How long are you leaving?’ It kind of gives him anxiety now. I can’t do that anymore. They are definitely happy that I’m not going to be leaving for days on end now.”
