French politician says France is inspired by Brexit – 'It is the first step for France!'

Charles-Henri Gallois told talkRADIO host Mike Graham he has been campaigning for Frexit for 13 years. Mr Gallois also argued that if France was to hold another referendum on membership of the European Union the nation would vote to leave.

The French politician said: “If you talk about being against the European Union I can remember that in 2005 the last referendum that we had about the European Union we voted at 55 percent against.

“We have been advocating for Frexit for 13 years.

“The French people are starting to become aware that we cannot change the European Union because many people in France are against this current European Union.

“They don’t like it.

“If there is a referendum I am 100 percent sure they will vote against the European Union.

“Because we have many political parties and all the media that are saying you can’t leave the European Union or that we have to renegotiate it or change it.

“It has been 15 years of saying we will change the European Union.”

He continued: “The fact is that you cannot change it whether you like it and stay or you leave.

Metthieu, 30, who is a GP in France was holding a massive sign calling for Frexit and told Express.co.uk that Brexit showed it is possible to leave the EU.

He said: “It is possible to leave the EU!

“I want to send this message to the French people.”
