Deepika Padukone: xXx star reveals TRUTH behind teaming up with husband for new movie

Deepika Padukone has become a staple of the Bollywood cinema world for the last decade. She had now launched her own production company, and even works in modelling and activism for important causes. But what was it really like to team up with her real life husband, Ranveer Singh, for cricket movie ’83?

Padukone is sharing the screen with her real life husband, Ranveer Singh, once again in their new movie ’83.

The movie follows the legendary cricketer, Kapil Dev, a fast bowler who performed staggeringly well in the 1983 World Cup performance against the West Indies.

The pair have shared the screen before in movies such as Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela, as well as Bajirao Mastani.

Asked how Padukone felt about working with her husband again, in an interview with agency Indo Asian News Service, she said: “It was good.

“It was a refreshing change because of the kind of films that we have done before.

“It was a completely different setting, era, characters, costumes and dialogues.

“It was refreshing to work with him in this capacity.”

Having worked with Singh before, it could have been easy for Padukone to bring out the same relationship again.

The plot follows a widower who becomes a senior intern at an online fashion website, with De Niro playing the intern to Hathaway’s brutal boss.

In the remake, Padukone will play Hathaway’s role, while De Niro’s role is expected to be played by Rishi Kapoor.

The project was announced only at the start of 2020, and is expected to be released in 2021.

Finally, Padukone brought a whole new audience to the third film, xXx: Return of Xander Cage, in 2017.

Vin Diesel, the star of the movies, later revealed he and Padukone were returning for the fourth film, and they were working out other stars to bring on board.

Since then, they have hired a huge number of stars, including Chinese stars Jay Chou, Zoe Zhang and Roy Wang.

Diesel even called on fans to help suggest who may be a good fit for the new movie, however since then his focus has all been on the new Fast and Furious film, Fast and Furious 9.

Clearly, after the release of ’83, Padukone will have plenty to be getting on with.
