Sony's new Xperia gets two features you won't find on an iPhone

Sony has always made a big deal about its audio prowess and it wants to entice users back to its brand by offering this simple way to connect external headphones. Apple was the first manufacturer to rid their devices of this popular socket and since then everyone else has followed… including the audio-focused Sony.

The second change in Xperia 1 II is the addition of 5G technology, which allows the smartphone to access superfast network speeds when away from home broadband. In fact, owners of this device should be able to whizz 4K movies to the 6.5-inch OLED screen at speeds of over 300Mbps.

This is where Sony now has another advantage over Apple. That’s because the US technology firm has not yet embraced 5G on their iPhones.

That could change later this year with many expecting a faster iPhone to launch in September but, until then, Android devices including the new Xperia have the advantage.
