Pete Davidson Says He’s Leaving SNL Soon – It’s A ‘Cutthroat Show!’

It sounds like Pete Davidson may be leaving Saturday Night Live sooner than later! The young comedian revealed that he actually ‘really wanted last year to be my last year.’

During an interview with Charlamagne, Pete shared that he is seriously thinking of moving on to other projects after years on SNL.

The hour-long interview included topics like Pete’s very public love life but also his job on the longtime running comedy show and plans to take on better and bigger things.

‘I personally think I should be done with that show because they make fun of me on it. I get it. I am just cold open political punchlines; I am just weekend update jokes,’ he shared.

He went on to confess that it is difficult to tell ‘whose side you are on. I have a feeling in that building where I do not know whose team I am on, really. I really wanted last year to be my last but I am still around and trying to knock it away.’

While many things have changed throughout his time on SNL, there is one thing that has remained constant, however.

Pete shared that his relationship with the Emmy winning show’s creator, Lorne Michaels is still the same.

He described Lorne as ‘the s*it, and the best, has treated me with nothing but love and is just a father to me.’

However, when it comes to his co-stars, things are completely different and there is a lot of competitively between everyone and no actual friendship or closeness of any kind.

He dished that ‘As far as everyone else, it’s a cutthroat show. Everyone [on SNL] wants to be the next thing. It is not loving and caring. You are not going to get coddled over there. They are not going to give a f**k at the end of the day.’
