Kate Middleton joined Queen Elizabeth’s extensive family when she married Prince William, 37, back in 2011. Since then, the Duchess of Cambridge has carried out much travel at home and abroad in her role as a senior royal. Despite Kate coming from a non-royal background, there’s one big way her travels are the same as the Queen’s, and indeed the rest of the Royal Family’s.
Telegraph reporter Gordon Rayner, who has attended 20 royal tours, shared his experience of life for the royals when they travel.
He explained that travelling is often quite rushed and on a strict schedule.
“Touring the world meeting heads of state and being shown cultural treasures sounds like a wonderful life,” said Rayner.
“Yet I have no envy for the Royal Family.

“Their visits to world-famous sites rarely last more than 40 minutes, and the chances are they will never return.”
These visits can take up to six months to coordinate.
A Canadian government spokesperson revealed the biggest challenge ahead of Kate and Wiliam’s 2016 visit to Canada.
This is “ensuring all the engagements run smoothly, are on time, safe, and successful,” they told CN Traveler.
Kate also has her own personal hairdresser to ensure she has immaculate blowdries every day.
A personal assistant provides support to the couple, by helping to organise their day-to-day programme and corresponding with internal and external contacts.
When the Queen goes away, on very unusual concern is of great importance.
According to Rayner, the location of toilets and the loo roll on offer is of great importance when the Queen visits.
Rayner revealed that a “retiring room” is designated wherever the Queen and her husband Prince Philip, 98, travel.
A former aide is said to have told Rayner: “Hosts spend more time worrying about the loo arrangements than anything else, down to what colour the towels should be and whether the loo roll is a suitable brand.”
