Man Utd striker Odion Ighalo reveals stance on making Old Trafford move permanent

Manchester United star Odion Ighalo would be willing to make his loan move to Old Trafford a permanent switch. The Nigeria international joined the club from Shanghai Shenhua on transfer deadline day, in a six-month loan deal.

Ighalo made his first Premier League appearance for United last weekend, after his January move.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer decided to sign the former Watford striker after failing with a transfer bid for Bournemouth’s Josh King.

Ighalo admitted it was a dream come true to sign for his beloved Red Devils, after the deal was confirmed.

After only spending a few weeks at the club, Ighalo has now already admitted that he’d like to make the move permanent.

“It’s a loan, but when you’re in the door – and if you impress – it gives you a chance,” said Solskjaer.

“That’s exactly the same for everyone who signs.

“If it’s permanent or if it’s a loan, if you impress as a player, if you impress as a person, if you can help this group improve, of course there’s a chance we’ll look at extending things and signing.

“That doesn’t just go for Odion but, since you asked, yes, his incentive is to play as well as he can and it’s up to us to make sure he wants to stay… If we want him.”
