Billie Eilish’s No Time To Die James Bond theme breaks ALL-TIME record as takes UK No 1

A new James Bond theme is a very special event and now the latest has made UK No 1. Billie Eilish’s No Time To Die is not only her first UK chart-topping single, but also the biggest opening for a Bond theme in modern times. According to the Official Charts Company, the tune managed 90,000 chart sales and 10.6 million streams in its first week of release.

The 18-year-old is not only the youngest artist to take UK No 1 for a Bond theme, but also the first female.

After all, Adele only managed No 2 for Skyfall in 2012, while Sam Smith’s Spectre theme Writing’s On The Wall did manage No 1 in 2015.

Eilish wrote No Time To Die with here brother Finneas and the siblings performed the song live at The Brits earlier this week.

Considering both Adele and Smith won an Oscar for their Bond themes, it seems like Eilish will be the favourite at the 2021 Academy Awards.

She added: “We changed the tempo.

“We changed some of the structure of the… He’s really important!

“Dude, he’s given 15 years of his life to this! He’s really involved because he actually really cares.

“This is his thing, he’s James Bond! I haven’t met him yet, I’ll probably meet him at the premiere.”

It turns out the pop star has already seen No Time To Die, admitting she was flown to London especially for a secret screening.

Eilish praised the film saying: “Oh it was, dude, come on! Dude, [Daniel Craig]’s so good!”

No Time To Die is released in UK cinemas on April 2, 2020.
