Tyson Fury has revealed his immediate thoughts after being floored by Deontay Wilder in the final round of their fight 14 months ago. Fury’s unsuccessful attempt to dethrone the WBC champion – whom he’ll lock horns with again this weekend – will forever be remembered for its chaotic final round.
Going into the final round, many had the lineal heavyweight champion edging the contest – which Wilder had made a close one with a ninth-round knockdown.
Fury appeared to be on his way to winning his second world title fight until he was caught with one of the most brutal combinations in recent heavyweight title history.
The hard-hitting Wilder put down the 31-year-old with a vicious straight-right-left-hook combination, which caused pandemonium at Los Angeles’ Staples Center.
Fury landed flat on his back and looked doomed in the contest when referee Jack Reiss began his count, which itself is still very much a topic of debate.

“The only thing going on during Tyson’s mind at the time was to get back up.
“That’s what we are taught as kids, as boxers. When you get put down, you get back up.”
Fury will renew his rivalry with ‘The Bronze Bomber’ early on Sunday morning at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
Following the controversial outcome of his first meeting with the Olympic bronze medallist, which ended in a split draw, Fury is hellbent on not letting the contest go the judges’ scorecards again.
“I’m expecting a clean-cut knockout,” Fury said during an appearance on talkSPORT. “It will be early on in the fight so we can all go out and get drunk! Have a good night in Las Vegas celebrating.
“I’m going to go for round two. I’ve been saying round two all camp and I’m going to stick by round two.
“I don’t know why, I don’t know when but round two is when it’s going to be.”
