Where UK property-owning pensioners make thousands from their home every year

Many pensioners own properties, having paid off their mortgages over the years.

A 2018 study carried out by the government found almost 90 percent of the lowest earning UK pensioners own their own home.

Pensioners in the lowest income band have an average income of £7,619 a year.

Of the highest earning pensioners, who earn an average income of £55,365 a year, 94 percent own their own home. Of the average pensioner earner, who makes £17,493 a year, 66 percent own their own home.
