The First Lady used part of her acceptance speech to highlight her work combatting cyberbullying via her BeBest campaign. She said: “We live in an age where too many people allow the number of retweets or likes to define their self-worth.
“I am convinced now more than ever that teaching healthy online behaviour is crucial to securing a safer future for our children.”
However, some people were not happy with her speech, including a professor from the university.
A senior student studying biology and zoology at the university also complained to The Hill.
Graysen Boehning said: “This award has historically gone to women whose character and impact in Palm Beach has shaped the culture of our home, and I have not been convinced that the first lady’s character or impact here is worthy of that recognition.”
Filmmaker and producer Andy Ostroy who describes himself as a “proud Democrat” also took to Twitter to mock the First Lady.
He said: “Hey @Flotus… the hubby’s making fun of people’s physical appearances again. Just more bullying from the Bully-in-Chief…who you’re married to and whose bullying you condone. You’re complicit.
“So your #BeBest campaign is just bulls**t…”
Another woman said: “Why would a woman of no achievements have been selected?

The post included four photos of Melania accepting the award and posing for photos.
However, Twitter users were not impressed with Melania’s award and commented on the post to express their grievances.
One user said: “Too bad #BeBest has had zero impact on your husband.”
Another said: “Be Best is a sham. Everything the Trumps are involved in are shams.”
One user commented: “Show us some results of this positive impact you speak of. Other than photo ops, that is.”
But many users also commented on the post congratulating the First Lady saying she “deserved” the award.
Mary said: “Congratulations Melania! We are very proud of you!”
Another said: “Richly deserved!”
Josielyn said: “Congratulations to our warm and gracious First Lady. You deserve this. God bless you more.”
