Sky price shock: Your TV and broadband bill could soar as major PRICE RISE confirmed

If you subscribe to Sky, things could be about to get more expensive. The satellite TV firm just announced that it’s hiking prices across a number of its most popular services, including broadband and television plans.

Those worst affected by the rise are customers who subscribe to Sky Broadband Essential or Sky TV Entertainment, with both of these options going up by £2 per month.

Other services hit by the rise include Sky TV Multiscreen and Sky HD TV which are both increasing by £1.

Speaking about the price increase, a spokesperson said: ”We know price increases are never welcome, so we try to keep prices down while continuing to bring customers the best entertainment all in one place, leading customer service and even more flexibility to choose the package that best suits them.”

The changes will come into effect from April 1, 2020 and could add a total of £72 to your annual outlay to Sky. Although some costs are increasing, Sky is also very keen to point out that many plans are staying the same.

Prices for services such as Sky Broadband Superfast, Sky Cinema, Sky Kids and Sky Sports are frozen for time being which is clearly good news for those customers.

Along with BT and Sky, EE is also putting up the cost of using its service.

The price rise could see £27.48 added to their bill over the course of the next 12 months. The mobile network has already notified customers who will be impacted by the change. Bills will typically increase by 2.2 percent from March 30, 2020.
