Lewis Capaldi makes HUGE announcement after BRITs glory and Someone You Loved performance

Lewis Capaldi has announced he will be playing a massive gig at London’s O2 later this year. The Scottish singer-songwriter will headline the venue on October 2 following his meteoric rise to fame and BRIT Awards success. The concert will make Capaldi’s biggest headline show to date.

Tickets go on general sale on Friday at 11am.

The O2 gig will also feature a ground-breaking new initiative for fans called LIVELIVE.

The [project aims to provide mental health support to fans who love live music but suffer from anxiety and/or panic attacks in environments like live concerts.

A compulsory 50p extra charge for each ticket sale is going to providing a qualified team, trained in assisting with panic attacks and anxiety, at venues to help with fans’ mental health needs.

It has also held onto its place in the top 10 in the charts since its release last May.

At last night’s BRIT Awards, Capaldi picked up two awards, having been nominating in four categories, taking home the gong for New Artist and Song of the Year for Someone You Love.

He also performed the smash hit live just moments after BRITs host Jack Whitehall paid tribute to Caroline Flack following her suicide on Saturday.

“Before out next performance, I just wanted to add that over the weekend, we learned the awful news that a member of the BRITs family, our friend Caroline Flack, tragically passed away,” the presenter said.

“She was a kind and vibrant person with an infection sense of fun. She will be sorely missed. 

“I’m sure I speak for everyone here when I say our thoughts are with her friends and family,” he added.

Capaldi then took to the stage to sing his emotional ballad, Someone You Loved, with many viewers commenting on the heartbreaking performance on Twitter.
