Rod Stewart pictured by wife Penny and special companion heading to BRITs 2020 rehearsals

Sir Rod Stewart, 75, was joined by his dog Lily when he headed to the O2 arena yesterday to rehearse for tonight’s Brit Awards 2020.

The legendary pop star, who is set to close the show, was snapped in the back of his car on the way to London alongside his pet pooch.

The singer’s wife Penny Lancaster, 48, shared a picture of the pair on her Instagram account, in view of her 95,300 followers.

She captioned the social media snap: “Lily living the rock star life, as Rod heads off to rehearsals at the O2 in preparation for the BRITS.”

The Brit Awards are the biggest night in the UK music calendar and this year will see performances from Billie Eilish, Harry Styles, Lewis Capaldi and Stormzy as well as Rod.

This will be the singer’s second performance at the UK award ceremony.

He previously took to the stage in 1993 after collecting the Outstanding Contribution accolade.

Instagram users and fans took to the comments section of the post to share their thoughts.

One user wrote: “What a cracking photo.”

Another added: “Awesome photo rod love your dog she’s so cute and I hope your rehearsals go well.”(sic)

A third remarked: “Lucky dog.”

Noticing how smartly-dressed the Maggie May hitmaker was in a three-piece black suit, a fourth fan said: “He even looks@super smart for rehearsals.”
