Caroline Flack and Harry Styles relationship: 1D star’s mum pays sweet tribute – in full

Harry Styles and Caroline Flack had a short lived relationship after his fame grew on The X Factor. Their relationship was only a few months long, but gained a lot of press attention due to their age gap. Caroline died after taking her own life on February 15.

Styles appeared to pay tribute to Caroline at the Brit Awards, wearing a black ribbon on his lapel.

The singer, who is nominated for best male solo artist and album of the year, was in a relationship with the TV presenter for three months in 2011.

Black ribbons are traditionally worn as a symbol of remembrance or mourning, with some fans believing the pin may be in tribute to Flack.

Styles is yet to speak publicly about the former Love Island host’s death, but in a touching social media post, his mum Anne Twist shared a poem dedicated to Caroline.

The poem reads: “How lonely must you feel, to think that must be done, to feel there is no love to support you through.

“How must your heart ache, To feel so all alone, The public face; the private face Both vulnerable.

“The mask we all wear, Outside where skies are open, In view of others eyes, Opinions words and cruelty.

“Unmasked and alone, Black hol surrounds, No shoulder or heart, Enough to take the pain away.”

Styles also performed his song Fallen at the awards on Tuesday, wearing all white on a stage flooded with water.

Fans loved the rendition of the ballad, with one saying the performance made them “cry”.

Another fan said on Twitter: “Well that was a stunning performance.

A source close to Styles spoke to the Daily Star about whether the singer would perform ahead of the Brit Awards.

The source said: “Despite the tragic news which will have effected him deeply, Harry’s booking for the BRIT Awards has not changed.

“He will perform during the show as planned.”

Styles new album has been marketed as being one about “treating people with kindness.”

One of the songs on his album is called Treat People With Kindness, and has lyrics to call on people to do this.

In the chorus, a choir sings: “Maybe we can find a place to feel good and we can treat people with kindness, find a place to feel good.”

However, Caroline did claim people shouted “paedophile” and “pervert” at her in the street after images of Styles leaving her house in the morning surfaced online.

Caroline was found dead in her flat in London on Saturday, Feburary 15, after taking her own life.

This was three weeks before she was due to stand trial for assault on her boyfriend, Lewis Burton.

Love Island continued without her, with Laura Whitmore standing in, and Monday’s episode aired with a tribute to Caroline from the producers as well as the show’s narrator, Iain Stirling.
