Tyson Fury responds to Deontay Wilder training camp rumours ahead of rematch

Tyson Fury has emphatically dismissed suggestions of him having a troublesome training camp for his rematch with Deontay Wilder. The former lineal heavyweight champion will challenge Wilder for the WBC heavyweight title in Las Vegas early on Sunday morning.

Fury’s clash with Wilder will be a rematch of their 2018 classic, which ended in a controversial split draw.

’The Gypsy King’ has made wholesale changes in preparations for his second showdown with ‘The Bronze Bomber’, changing his head coach and basing his training camp in Las Vegas.

Late last week, Matchroom Boxing chief Eddie Hearn claimed the former unified heavyweight champion has endured a troublesome camp ahead of his second crack at the WBC heavyweight crown.

Fury has emphatically dismissed that notion, insisting all has been well with his latest fight preparations.

“I can’t prepare any better than I have for this fight. There’s no more I can do. I’m getting to bed early, I’m waking up early.

“I’m eating all the right food, drinking tonnes of water, I’m having vitamins, I’m having minerals – everything that a fighter needs in order to be successful.

“I’ve got the right sparring partners. I’ve got tall guys, I’ve got powerful guys, I’ve got awkward guys. I’ve got one in, one out, I’ve got eight in a row.

“I’ve got the trainer in there, I’ve got my brothers, I’ve got my friends. I’ve got everything you could ever need. I’m happy in my own mind, I’ve got nothing going on back home that’s distracting me.

“Everything is where it should be and I can’t ever remember having a fight where everything was going so well regarding injuries and dedication and no distractions.

“I don’t have anything that I can actually say I honestly care about that can take my mind off or distract me from this fight. Nothing else matters in my life at this moment apart from this fight.”

Fury, 31, is brimming with confidence ahead of his second showdown with the Olympian and has vowed to go out on his shield in pursuit of the WBC.

He said: “I’ll go for an all-out brawl. I’m not bothered about getting hit and hurt. I’ve been hit and hurt loads of times. I’m going out swinging. Deontay Wilder says he’s coming out swinging. So we’ll see who’s full of s**t and who’s a man of his word. I’m coming out like a raging bull.”
