Fortnite season 2 release date: When does Fortnite season 2 start? Launch time?

Fortnite season 2 release date is fast approaching, with the day the new Battle Pass is launching getting confirmed by Epic Games. Fortnite fans are currently at the tail end of the longest Battle Royale season in history. The last time fans had a new Fortnite season launch to look forward to was back in October.

That was a spectacular release which had the jaw-dropping Fortnite Black Hole live event in the lead-up to it.

It was a Fortnite season launch to remember, and not since then have fans had the excitement and mystery of a new Battle Pass launch to look forward to.

But that has all changed recently with Epic Games now confirming when the next season of Fortnite will be.

If you’re wondering when to expect the next Fortnite Battle Pass then Express.co.uk is here to help.

FORNITE SEASON 2 – WHEN IS THE FORTNITE SEASON 2 RELEASE DATE? WHEN IS THE FORTNITE SEASON 2 START TIME?

Epic Games has today (Monday February 17) confirmed the Fortnite season 2 release date.

The next season of Fortnite will be launching on Thursday February 20 with servers that day expected to go down at 9am UK time.

That start time hasn’t been confirmed by Epic Games – it’s a prediction made based on previous season launches.

The Fortnite makers technically confirmed earlier this month the season 2 release date.

But at the time they had left the door open to the new Battle Pass arriving on another date as well, saying it was “expected” to launch on Feb 20.

In the blog post at the end of January Epic Games said: “Chapter 2 – Season 2 is now expected to launch Thursday, February 20.

“Chapter 2 – Season 2 will feature [REDACTED] with [REDACTED] multiple [REDACTED]. We can’t brief you on all of next Season’s secrets just yet.”

Teasers have been dropped in-game, online and in real life.

The real life teasers are mysterious posters that have appeared in spots all over the world.

These posters and stickers feature a gold handprint which has also been used in the Fortnite Twitter teasers.

The Fortnite posters that have appeared in major locations around the world feature phone numbers on them.

When dialled these play messages which look to hint at what is coming in the next season of Fortnite.

One message says: “Agency recruitment drive is a go. Happy hunting agents. Agents, oil rig operation is a go.”

While another adds: “Yes sir. The agents were called. Card to access the safe purchased.”

And one relays this: “During ID scanning, access denied, agency communication was interrupted.”

While in-game gold objects have started popping up, with fans left wondering what the meaning of it is.

Elsewhere teasers on Twitter have dropped, with two teasers alone being revealed on Monday.

One teaser image showed the gold handprint that appeared on the Fortnite season 2 posters in real-life.

The other teaser image showed a graph with a blurred image and some gold shapes around it.

But Fortnite fans on Twitter have figured out these pieces are like parts of a jigsaw puzzle and can be placed to make a shape.

And that shape is of the Chaos Agent skin.

What all this means remains to be seen, and whatever theories we come up with are likely to be thrown out the window when Fortnite season 2 launches.

But either way it’s an exciting time to be a Fortnite fan.
