Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby returned to present the hit skating competition but the pair fought back tears as they introduced the show and paid an emotional tribute to Caroline.
News of Caroline’s death came out yesterday evening after it was confirmed she had been found in her East London flat.
Celebrities have come out in great numbers to pay tribute to Caroline after the Love Island star passed away on Saturday.
Phillip and Holly addressed the presenter’s death live on air as they both became tearful.
It comes after Phillip put out a heartfelt statement yesterday evening after the news broke of his ITV colleague’s death, urging people to “be kind”.

In a speech at the beginning of last night’s show, Phillip began by saying: “We’d like to begin tonight’s show by taking a moment to remember Caroline Flack.
“In light of yesterday’s awful news that our hearts go to her family and friends.”
Holly continued: “Many of us on the show knew Caroline as a friend and will all miss her enormously
“As Caroline, herself has recently posted: ‘In a world where you can be anything, be kind.’”
The pair weren’t the only ones to address the news this evening as friend Joe Swash, who is competing in this year’s show, gave his condolences after his performance.
He skated a routine to Candy by Robbie Williams, which was met with a hugely positive reception from judges as he admitted: “It’s been a really tough day.”
His partner Alexandra Schauman added: “This was really hard to get through, and do a happy number when he feels the way he feels.”
Phillip gave the star an opportunity to speak about the news as Joe told viewers: “I just want to send my love to her family and my condolences, you know.”
Stars have flooded social media with tributes to the late TV presenter as Holly expressed her sadness on an Instagram post.
Sharing a picture with Caroline, she captioned it: “Utterly heartbreaking… life is so precious and yet so fragile… huge love to Caroline’s family…”
ITV released a statement in light of the news yesterday: “Everybody at Love Island and ITV is shocked and saddened by this desperately sad news.
“Caroline was a much-loved member of the Love Island team and our sincere thoughts and condolences are with her family and friends.”
