Exciting Nintendo Switch games news as more secret PS4 and Xbox One projects revealed

The popular Nintendo Switch handheld console could be getting two more exciting ports from the PS4 and Xbox One in 2020. While not confirmed yet by the Japanese game giant or its third-party partners, there’s been plenty of talk online regarding what new titles will be launched on the Switch this year. Fans are expected news covering these new releases during an upcoming Nintendo Direct, event, with one rumoured for the coming weeks.

So far, the Switch release schedule for 2020 remains pretty bare and will likely be boosted with a few first-party exclusives.

But gamers are also likely to see some top titles from other platforms ported over, as we have seen in the past.

And it appears there could be two popular choices coming soon to the Nintendo Switch.

According to a new post from a leading global ratings board, XCOM 2 and Catherine Full Body, are being developed for the Switch and Switch Lite.

The news was spotted on the South Korean Game Rating and Administration Committee site, which lists both projects for the handheld console.

The application for the Catherine port was filed on January 16, 2020 and gives its an 18+ rating in South Korea.

Meanwhile, the XCOM 2 Collection will be available for ages 15+ and was also filed during January 2020.

This news doesn’t guarantee that we will see both games arrive on the Nintendo Switch later this year but it certainly makes it seem likely.

It follows the news that Atlus recently asked fans if they are interested in seeing Persona games ported to the Switch, as well as Catherine: Full Body.

The survey also asked if there was an interest in Nintendo Switch ports of Shin Megami Tensei 3 and 4, while the Atlus consumer survey for 2020 also asked fans if they were interested in remakes of beloved titles from the developer’s back catalogue.

And it appears another popular trilogy of titles are secretly being worked on for the Nintendo Switch.

The BioShock series has won plaudits on a number of different platforms and it appears the Switch will be the next stop.

The downside, for now, is that neither 2K Games or Nintendo have revealed plans for a launch on the Switch console, and we are again relying on a Rating leak, this time from Taiwan.

Third-party developers have been eager to port over some of this generation’s biggest games following the success and adoption of the Switch.

This includes titles like DOOM and Wolfenstein: The New Colossus from Bethesda, NBA 2K from 2K and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, from CD Projekt RED.

And there’s no reason to believe that more won’t make the switch in the future, what with the continuing success of the Nintendo console.

XCOM 2 could be a perfect fit for the Nintendo Switch, providing a new way to enjoy the top title.

Both the PS4 and Xbox One version of XCOM 2 revealed that the game could work perfectly with a controller setup, even though many prefer a keyboard and mouse.

Downgrades in terms of graphics will probably be likely but there’s no reason to believe that gameplay will suffer.

And with the name XCOM 2 Collection being given as part of the rating in South Korea, there is a good chance that the War of the Chosen expansion will also be included.
