BT price rise: Broadband, mobile and landline bills are increasing, will YOU be affected?

It’s important to note that if your contract started on or after January 17 2020, your monthly bill will not increase next month. However, it’s likely to go up in line with inflation in March 2021… so you’ve got plenty of time to brace yourself for that little treat.

BT broadband and landline customers enjoyed a calendar year without any price rises in 2019, after customers were stung with two separate rounds of hikes in 2018. However, the telecoms firm has already warned that customers who have signed up with BT since January 11, 2019 can now expect to see CPI-linked price rises every March.

A BT spokesperson said: “We froze prices in 2019 for broadband, mobile and landline customers so this is our first price rise in nearly 18 months. We know price rises are never welcome, but… we have now linked price changes to CPI to make our pricing fairer and more predictable for our customers.”
