Buddy Hield wins NBA All Star 3-Point Contest after sensational final shot to beat Booker

The Three-Point Contest went down to the final shot after Buddy Hield got the better of Devin Booker in a stunning comeback. There was a new addition to the three-point contest with two additional shots from the MTN DEW zone which count as three points.

Devin Booker wasn’t even invited to begin with having replaced the injured Damian Lillard in both the three-point contest and Sunday’s All Star Game.

But the Phoenix Suns guard got the ball rolling in the first round as he notched up an incredible 27 points after hitting both ‘three balls’.

Then Buddy Hield truly announced himself after hitting all five money balls on his final rack to match Booker’s high score.

Davis Bertans started off slow but he soon heated up after hitting the second of two ‘three ball’ attempts before hitting all five money balls before finishing on 26.

Trae Young surprisingly missed out after hitting just 15 points and defending champion Joe Harris could only manage 22 points as he failed to advance to the final round.

That meant Bertans, Booker and Hield advanced to the final round.

The Wizards star went up first but his score was quickly blown out the water by Booker with 26 points.

Hield looked like he may have missed his chance until the final rack where he left it until the last shot to beat Booker by just one point.

His win follows Bam Adebayo’s upset in the Skills Challenge after he defeated Spencer Dinwiddie, Pascal Siakam and finally Domantas Sabonis.
