Modern Family Cast Has Emotional Final Table Read Ahead Of Series Finale

After 11 seasons and 250 episodes, the ABC sitcom Modern Family is coming to an end. The cast and crew gathered this week for a final table read that left everyone in tears, and many stars posted pics on social media to share just how emotional the experience was.

Sofia Vergara (Gloria Delgado-Pritchett) shared a series of photos on Instagram that included one the entire cast around the table with their scripts in front of them as they smiled for the camera. She also posted a picture of the special cake that was made to celebrate the series finale.

“Our last table read😪 sad because its ending but so grateful and happy to have being able to be part of this family,” wrote Vergara in the caption. “It has being More than I ever dreamed of or deserved❤️ Gracias my Modern Family🍾🍾🍾 #11years.”

Julie Bowen (Claire Dunphy) posted a pic of Modern Family writer Danny Zuker because the final table read was hitting him hard, and she added in her caption that the “writers truly are the heroes of our show.”

Eric Stonestreet (Cameron Tucker) has posted numerous pics and videos, including one clip that featured the actor staring into the camera while the cast and crew were around the table behind him. The soundtrack for the video was Trace Adkins’ song You’re Gonna Miss This.

Stonestreet also honored Fizbo the Clown – his secondary character on the sitcom – with a series of photos from his childhood in Kansas City, Kansas, and an explanation in the caption about where the clown character came from.

“From as far back as I can remember, all I ever wanted to be was a clown in the circus. My dad named me Fizbo, my grandma made all my clown suits, and my parents allowed me to be the kid that raised pigs, played drums, took karate, payed football, AND put makeup and wigs on from time to time,” wrote Stonestreet.

He added that all of that led to the moment in 2009 when two writers – Brad Walsh and Paul Corrigan – wrote a draft of Modern Family called “Fizbo,” to introduce the audience to “Fizbo the a** kicking clown that will twist you like a balloon animal.”

Jesse Tyler Ferguson (Mitchell Pritchett), Nolan Gould (Luke Dunphy), and Sarah Hyland (Haley Dunphy) also posted pics from the final table read on their Instagram Stories.

Jeremy Maguire (Joe Pritchett) posted a pic with his on-screen brother Rico Rodriguez (Manny Delgado), and wrote in the caption that it has been a “huge honor” to be Rodriguez’ “little bro.”
