Coronavirus has killed 1,383 people worldwide and infected more than 64,000 as health professionals desperately begin developing a vaccine. But American televangelist Jim Bakker sold a product on his website which a guest claimed could “kill” coronavirus. Naturopathic Dr Sherrill Sellman said the $125 (£95) ’Silver Solution’ would deactivate the virus within 12 hours.
Speaking on the Jim Bakker Show, Mr Bakker said: “This influenza that is now circling the globe, you’re saying that Silver Solution would be effective.”
The guest said: “It hasn’t been tested on this strain of the coronavirus but it’s been tested on other strains of the coronavirus and has been able to eliminate it within 12 hours.
“Totally eliminated. Kills it, deactivates it and then it boosts your immune system so then you can support the recovery because when you kill the virus, the immune system comes into action to clear it out.
“You want a vibrant immune system as well as an ability to deactivate these viruses.”

According to its page on Bakker’s website, Silver Solution is a product that “works faster, longer and more efficiently than other silvers to support your immune system.”
Information on the website does not state how the product is to be used.
Other products like ‘Silver Solution’ include colloidal silver which have been proven to have no benefits by the National Centre for Complementary and Integrative Health (NCCIH).
The side effects of ingesting colloidal silver includes argyria, or discolouration of the skin or other tissue, and poor absorption of other medications by the body.
“Because we use a DNA vaccine we need the genetic code to be able to design the vaccine.
“As soon as we were able to receive that code we were able to start immediately designing the vaccine.
“In three hours we had a design ready and raring to go.”
Dr Broderick continued: “In the past we had more traditional vaccines which were based on proteins.
“They take in general two to three years to develop so you can see in an outbreak setting like China, two to three years isn’t going to help.”
